in the beginning...

well, i had to create a blog account for my edtech class last semester. i figured i would just delete it when my class was over, or just forget about it [the second option was much more likely, and i did forget about it]. but, in all honesty, i have this blog now, to talk to an old friend. and when i say old friend, i dont mean from a year or two ago...im talking middle school. even the last year of elementary school. hopefully im not freaking her out... =]

well, to anyone else reading this, if anyone else does....i guess ill give some information about me and then get some sleep

my hometown in las vegas. i will always call it home, even though my 'home' is now in idaho. i miss home. i dont miss living there exactly, i just miss being there, and as much as i hate to admit this, i kind of miss the atmosphere. dont get me wrong, i hated it there and i love it here, its just not home. i moved to boise last january to get away from my family and my past, to start fresh. it was the best thing i have ever done. i have never been happier, which may have something to do with phil, but we'll get to him soon enough. i lived in an on-campus apartment for my first semester and met some really cool people. for some reason, i missed my parents. but not for long, they moved to idaho in june and im living with them again. funny how things work out. =]

i tried out for the cheer squad, and made it [go broncos!] and cheer has ruled my life for the past 9-ish months. i love it, but it takes so much time and effort. i was lucky enough to be one of the few first years on the team to travel to 2 away games [san jose state and reno] AND the poinsettia bowl, which we unfortunately lost, but it was a blast! right now were learning our nationals routine and it is kicking my and everyone elses butts! but, it is going to amazing, and were looking at bringing back to back national titles to boise state =]

im studying elementary education. i would love to teach kindergarten. but, recently i have had this immense passion to get into specual education. i am meeting up with my advisor next week to talk about possibilities of doing that, and being able to teach in a 'typical' classroom or an exceptional classroom. either way i know i am going to love my career and i cannot wait to get started. ive already started my library of children's books, barnes and noble is going to LOVE me.

ive met the man of my dreams. no, scratch that. hes better than i ever dreamed. his name is phil. he is a boise native, born and raised. i knew from the first couple of times we hung out that we were going somewhere, the two of us. and pretty soon after that i knew that he was it for me. a couple months later, he realized it too...and we are 'promised'. basically he has my ring and will be proposing when he is ready, which i have a feeling will be soon! =] anyways, the plan right now is that we will be getting married sometime between next january and next spring, so somewhere in there! phil is going to be gone for two months this summer touring with a Christian band doing summer camps. it is going to be the worst two months ever, but im going to keep myself busy with work and summer school. =]

lastly, but absolutely not least is that for the first time in my life, i am truly on fire for God. ive been a Christian my entire life, but never have felt so close to Him. i put all my faith in Him, i give Him all my troubles, fears, questions, everything, and i am at peace about 98% of the time. it is a wonderful feeling that i am so glad to be able to have it, but sad that i waited this long to pursue a real relationship with Jesus. He has blessed me so much this past year and i am so thankful for all He does.

well, that took longer than i thought. =]

goodnight!!
